Amazon Music Expands to Audiobooks

Amazon Music Unlimited is now offering its subscribers in the US, UK, and Canada access to one premium audiobook monthly from Audible’s extensive catalog of 800,000 titles. This move is a continuation of Spotify’s offer of free listening to 15 hours of audiobooks last year. Subscribers can also access 100 million songs, podcasts, and spatial audio.

Amazon holds a strong position for audio entertainment, including HD music, podcasts, and spatial audio. Audible CEO Bob Carrigan stated that this move has the potential to attract new listeners while maintaining its standalone service. New subscribers can enjoy a three-month promotional trial.

A promotional three-month free trial is available for new subscribers only. The free plan offering can boost Amazon’s competitive edge in the audio streaming market. Individual plans for Prime members will cost £9.99/month or £99/year. At the same time, non-Prime users pay £10.99/month. Subscribers having primary accounts for the family plan can also enjoy audiobook access.
